This year’s chosen theme, music and performance from Takapuna Grammar School

Our second school programme in 2024 engaged with the performance and music departments at Takapuna Grammar School (TGS). This was the second year to give the students a stage in their own community.

“The opportunity to perform at Takapuna Winter Lights has provided invaluable learning for the students! They’ve been able to experience the planning and preparation that goes into live playing as well as being able to perform and show their skills in front of tens of thousands of people. Their growth through this process has been remarkable and they are still beaming with pride from being a part of it all. They have now performed at subsequent gigs with so much more enthusiasm, stage presence, and confidence. I am so thankful to Dan and Takapuna Winter Lights for allowing our students a space to grow and shine. We look forward to doing it again next year!”

“Takapuna Grammar School once again had the privilege of performing at the Takapuna Winter lights festival. Our Ballet group wowed festival goers with their elegant performance on the Saturday and Sunday evening. They shone brightly in their fairy wings diligently illuminated by the Winter Lights team. A true performance highlight for the dancers who thoroughly enjoyed being a part of such a popular community event.”
